Patient Participation Group Meeting
22nd January 2026
- Facilitator: Dylan Renyolds
- Note Taker: Kirsty Britten
- Attendees: Dr Branton, Richard, Victoria, Jeremy
Updates From Previous Meeting
- Check in Screen & TV
- Solar Panels
Both the check‑in screen and the waiting‑room TV have now been installed.
The check‑in screen is available for patients who prefer to use it, and patients can still check in at reception.
The TV is up and running with NHS‑approved information including NHS App guidance to help keep patients informed while they wait.
Dr Branton Patient Access Questionnaire Feedback
Dr Branton reviewed the Patient Access Questionnaires completed at the Health Fair and in reception. A total of 26 responses were received. The average ratings (out of 5) were:
- Telephone: 4.25
- Online Access: 3.5
- NHS App: 3.3
- Check‑in Screen: 3.4
Gardening Volunteers
Dylan asked whether anyone would like to volunteer to help tidy the garden area at Statham Grove. Victoria, who has previously worked on the gardens, kindly offered to assist. Dylan will also email the wider PPG to see if any additional members would be interested in joining. Will arrange garden‑waste collection bags and share some provisional dates, preferably on Thursdays between 12–2pm.
CQC Visit
Dylan explained that we are likely to have a CQC visit soon, as the practice has not been inspected since 2017. Once the visit date is confirmed, we will contact PPG members to ask whether they would like to speak with the inspectors on the day.
Dementia Friendly Signage
The surgery will be working to make the practice more dementia‑friendly, beginning with a review of our signage and how it can be improved. It was suggested that appointments for patients with dementia could be scheduled during quieter times to provide a calmer and more supportive environment.
Improved Adjustable Examination Beds
Discussed as possibility for PPG budget use, Dylan to get quotes and go ahead if within budget.
AOB
Saturday Cover at Statham Grove
Dylan explained that we do have Saturday cover, but this is provided at another site rather than at Statham Grove. If a patient needs to be seen on a Saturday, we can book them into the appropriate location.
Actions
- Check answer machine message for the weekend
- Provide more info on Jess’s Rule
- Scale down posters in reception and transfer on to TV screen
- Arrange waste bags, and send out email for any volunteers
Next Meeting Date: Scheduled for Thursday, 23rd April 2026 at 1:00 PM.
