Present: (PPG) Victoria, Peter, Tony; (Surgery) Lucy, Nick, Gulhan

Apologies: (Surgery) Dylan

Outcome of actions from last meeting

Victoria reported that with more posts going up there has been an increase in followers and views of the Statham Grove Patients facebook page. Currently Victoria is posting on this page alone, and Tony has been actively reposting and engaging with other local groups such as Hackney Covid 19 Mutual Aid. Victoria continues to post on the facebook page as and when Gulhan provides updates pertaining to patient health and wellbeing, and any activities/programmes for local residents.

Updates from the surgery

Website

The Surgery is looking into upgrading the services with the website provider for a better and easier patient experience. Members mentioned that some care functions are not very apparent on the page and this could be simplified. Nick asked for feedback on some digital features used by patients, and some members mentioned that the NHS App was easy to use, and others mentioned that it was not; members mentioned that they could not see online appointments. This will be clarified by the surgery administrator whether or not this service should be running yet, and what the government guidelines are. The surgery has made online flu jab bookings available for patients to book into. Victoria mentioned that it would be preferable if the surgery uses real photos for staff on the website rather than the generic ones which the internet provider uses, and perhaps to personalise the website more and add photos from the weekly walks and other surgery related photos. Victoria is happy to post on the facebook for any photo ideas from patients active online.

Other surgery updates

The surgery will make more face-to-face appointments available. The weekly Statham Grove Patients Walk is up and running- every Thursday at 14:00. The members have mentioned that they prefer the new queueing system on the telephones, and the surgery is working on getting more information to add on the telephone messages patients can listen to while waiting in the telephone queue. The surgery is not currently contacting patients who are eligible for the booster covid-19 vaccination- this is done on central government level, but if and when surgeries are distributed any vaccinations for this purpose then we will invite those eligible. Tony has mentioned that Healthwatch Hackney has facilitated that patients over 50 can proactively book an appointment for their booster vaccination. The surgery has ordered a new bar/lock for bicycles for the front entrance of the surgery.

PCN updates

Lucy had updates from Woodberry Wetlands Primary Care Network- Heron Practice, Allerton Road Surgery, SGS, and Cedar Practice, which she introduced to the members in January 2021. There are approx. 32,000 patients within the PCN group of GP surgeries where the additional support staff have been offering services to, and these services, namely First Contact Physiotherapy, Social Prescribing, Practice Pharmacist, Health and Wellbeing coach growing as a large number of patients have benefitted from these services. Victoria will post some information of these additional services on the facebook page. Lucy also mentioned that a new PCN website is coming soon, which will have links to the GP surgeries.

AOB

Unfortunately the PPG appointed secretary, Michael has informed us that he will no longer be able to take part in the PPG. A new secretary has not been appointed, but Victoria has suggested members to take turns in preparing meeting minutes- this has not been adopted as other members not in agreement. Victoria has suggested advertising for a PPG secretary on the facebook page. This was agreed by all. Members agreed that any available PPG budget would be useful to invest in a premium upgrade of the website for some features to be improved. Victoria has visited for some gardening duties, and has suggested to advertise for a gardener on theh facebook page and everyone has agreed to this also.
