Using PPG Budget to Improve Patient Access

NHS app training. Dylan explained that while there was training available previously, he doesn’t believe it is still offered but will investigate what current options might be available.

Was asked if the NHS app and our website have a translate service, Dylan will look into this.

Health Fair

The event is scheduled to take place on the 23rd of October. During the meeting, there was a discussion about the stalls that had been set up there previously.

Volunteers for Patient Access Questionnaire - Health Fair and Reception

Dylan explained that he and Dr. Branton will be working on creating the questionnaire and asked for volunteers who could assist with completing the questionnaires with patients at the surgery and the health fair.

Check In Screen

Dylan went over different options for the check-in screens and shared the costs for each. There were two options: wall-mounted and floor-standing, and everyone voted for the wall-mounted one.

Solar Panels

The update on the solar panels is that funding was not approved; therefore, quotes are currently being obtained to explore available options. Crowdfunding was discussed as something to find out more about.

AOB

  • Was suggested that we have a water cooler in reception with paper cups
  • A question was raised about whether multiple issues can be addressed in a single appointment. Was explained that it’s not always possible to cover multiple issues in a single appointment. If several things need to be discussed, a double appointment can be booked, but these can sometimes be difficult to schedule.
  • Interpreter services were discussed, highlighting that Turkish and Kurdish interpreter support would be valuable. These services were previously available locally through the Turkish Community Service. We will look into this.

Actions

  • Solar Panel - Dylan to obtain additional quotes and gather more detailed information.
  • Water Cooler - Information to be collected and shared.
  • Health Fair Volunteers - Information to be emailed out to those who volunteered
  • Turkish Community Service – Will look into the previous service that was provided.

Next Meeting Date: Scheduled for Thursday, 8th January 2026 at 1:00 PM.
